Re-purposed kink
May. 18th, 2008 07:08 pmI've mentioned a few times in the past how the things I learned as a member of the kinky community have served me well as a parent. When Kouryou-chan burned her hand I knew what to do thanks to old SM classes on fire and waxplay; when the lower limbs of the oak tree dried and fell off, I fashioned a rope ladder using a stepknot so they could still get to the higher branches.
I was making cheap pizza, the kind where the bread is pre-made and the sauce comes in a packet; just supply your own cheese and and oven. The sauce packets are pretty skimpy and it's hard to get every last drop out of them.
Then I remembered a trick using two chopsticks and two rubber bands, to make a kind of squeegee to pull the packet through and get all the sauce out. And where did I learn this trick? Cheap nipple clamps from bad Japanese bondage videos.

warning: yuck factor.
Date: 2008-05-19 03:52 am (UTC)When our son was first born, my wife had huge issues with changing diapers because poo is yucky. I on the other hand, was uniquely qualified for this task. Not because I had ever changed a diaper in my life (I hadn't), but because I was used to dealing with poo.
I have a fetish for anal sex, and I am not one of the lucky majority who can take it in the ass anytime without making a mess. Instead, I have to take care of things in advance to make things neat and tidy. While this is not a process that I *like*, I'm certainly used to dealing with it. Frequently.
And so, in its own little way, one of my own fetishes has prepared me in some way for parenthood.
