So, picture this: I'm doing one of my physical therapy exercises to keep my knees in good shape. I recently added a half pound to the weights on my ankles, as instructed. I'm doing a backbridge: shoulders and feet on the floor, I lift my hips until thighs and abdomen make a flat plane, then alternately lift one leg into the air and hold it, tensing the outer muscles of my hip to pull it up. I've done this for two reps of thirty seconds each, and on the third rep, I lift my foot into the air...

... and the cat walks in and stops underneath me. Then she sits down. And starts grooming. She ignores me as I try and convince her to move.

I finally had to push myself over as far away as I could so I wouldn't fall on her. Stoopid cat.

Hee! Spice used to do stuff like that to me all the time. Sugar learned to get out of the way and nowadays will watch me from the safety of the lazy boy.

Err, no, the cat knew exactly what she was doing.

The human built her an impromptu (but probably quite effective) shelter, and she simply came in and took advantage of it. Mind you, that shelter happened to be you, but that's not the point. You're her staff you see. She is a cat, and therefore you exist to serve and please her.

Stoopid human. Don't you know your place?

My GF told me to comment that our cats have been known to jump on her stomach while she was doing bridge pose (in yoga).

I was involved with a nice friend of mine who's cat insisted on getting in between us during sex, or walking on my back.

I tend to use the other approach: lower myself slowly down onto the cat. If the cat remains, it's cozy and warm, and if not, kitty probably learned something about where not to take a bath when I'm doing that.
