If you have a dog or cat, be aware that almost half of the pet food currently in the U.S. supply pipeline has been recalled. Go here and check and see if the brand and lot numbers you are currently feeding your cat are subject to the recall. Dinah (pictured at left) eats Nutro Natural Choice, and I was a little freaked out when I read the report. Fortunately, there are also lot numbers associated with the recall and the batch we had was not part of the recall.

I know Tabitha is a bit unadventurous when it comes to choice of catfood, and when the manufacturer's tests can't find anything, and it seems to be associated with an ingredient from a new supplier, I wonder if they're running scared from the thought of a horde of lawyers associated with fussy cats.

On the other hand, cats dying of renal failure is nothing to sneeze at. And personally, I'd rather assume that there's a problem and find out that there is none, than assume that there's no problem and find out that there is a problem.

Sorry.

When I read it, the statement from the manufacturer, which Elf had linked to, just said "complaints". No mention that I recall of renal failure.
