Well, last night, after making Turkey Noodle Soup, I drove [livejournal.com profile] omahas to the airport and then went over to a friend's house where [livejournal.com profile] swirlgrrl was having her going-away party. She's moving to the other Washington, D.C., to be inside the beltway and care for a family member.

Kouryou-chan and I got home late enough that I started our usual bedtime ritual, when for reasons I cannot fathom she pulls back and hits me right in the crotch. Once I recovered I asked her why she did that. "Because I wanted to see what you would do." Well, now she knows: straight to bed, no dessert, no books, no music, no nothing. She cried and was miserable, but there wasn't much else I could do at that point.

This morning she was better. A little contrary-- she always is-- but she ate her breakfast of oatmeal (slow-cooked full-cut oatmeal, yum!) and got dressed in her pretty blue jumpsuit with the Cinderella on one side and I got her to school on time.

I've spent the day mostly cleaning. Since I have three days to myself, and about six hours a day without Kouryou-chan about, I'm going to spend it doing the David Allen Getting Things Done ritual, which involves purging an awful lot of stuff from my collection. I have a paper bag to go to Half-Price, and a box to go to Re-PC (which will wait until tomorrow; I need to borrow Kouryou-chan's old computer tonight, burn a Linux rescue disk, and make sure all the old hard-drives that are stacked up in my office are empty), and I've already emptied the recycling bin twice.

I may need to stop by Fry's tomorrow and get more tape for my label-maker.

OK you make me feel like such a lazy slug. I get done with my work day, and just keep the house somewhat clean. I have a clothes monster taking over my bedroom and mail piling up on surfaces near the door. Bleck!

Wow, I commend you on your patience. If I had ever pulled a move like that I would have found myself "knocked into next week." Your daughter is very lucky to be able to go through the stage of life where other people aren't really people yet in your home.

Umm... being rather in need of a Getting Things Done ritual, I was disappointed to find the link returns not only a 404, but a 404 on the 404 error page.

I don't think that's an 808.

So I looked at the code, and you have not a broken link, but a missing "http:"...

<a href="www.davidco.com">

Looks beneath your own LJ entry.

My kids haven't done that to me yet - luckily, it was one of those things where they asked first "What will happen if I ...". My kids had the sense that it would hurt and annoy me, so they asked.

My guess is that your daughter saw it done to someone, or had it explained to her, and wanted to see for herself.
