So, I've got this bright four-year-old who, from the confines of her car seat, can't quite view the world. This leads me to an idea: a periscope. Not just any periscope, mind you, but a world-class "see the world" kind of periscope. A dome that magnetically affixes itself to the roof of your car; a wi-fi enabled transmitter, and a headset, or just a pair of binoculars, that let any kidlet view the world from the privacy of their carseat. And no drilling holes in the roof.

Of course, the technology is prohibitively expensive at this point, and when it finally does come down in price we'll be driving plastic cars to which the mount won't affix and gas will be so expensive we won't be able to afford to drive anywhere anyway, but it's an idea...

My Four must be tall. Because not only can she see out the windows from her seat, she can see out the windshield. She's a terrible backseat driver.

"Moooom, gooooo! The light's green!"

Actually, if you feel ambitious, and cheap, you can make her a small periscope so she can look out the window. Just some cardboard and a couple small mirrors.

"I Can't See!"
