Well, last night [livejournal.com profile] omahas and I were supposed to have a guest over, but she bailed. While unfortunate, it was also probably a good thing because Omaha came down with a 24-huour bug that left her listless and unprepared for guests. So I made comfort food, a risotto heavy with prosciutto, Parmesan cheese, mushrooms (warning: the link is to a rather hypnotic, but work-friendly, earworm, courtesy [livejournal.com profile] kenshardik), and the usual mix of veggies: celery, carrots, onion, shallots, scalions. Yummy.

I also downloaded the Matrix: Revolutions trailer and, I'll agree, "It's nice to have something to look forward to." It does look a bit like the climactic battle is raw anime, but hey, it also looks like amazing eye candy. Watching Smith laugh is, um, creepy.

I also had to tell a dear friend that, sadly, I'm not available for a date anytime soon. It hurt; I really haven't had time to visit with anyone in an intimate way in a while, and I would love to go out on an "adult" date, but sadly, I have to be a parent first. Very frustrating. And she's the one I bought all of these Avanti's for, since she's latex-intolerant. Ah, well; they'll last.

Anyway, I now have enough stories written to get me through December. After that, I need to start assembling something for release.

Just out of curiousity, have you ever considered getting your stories published in book form?

No, no, that's not the question you should be asking.

The question you should be asking is, "has your wife ever asked you over many years to publish your stories in book form over and over and over again, wherein you repeatedly stated that no one would buy them or that if you did then you'd feel obligated to continue writing your stories and so you didn't want to try?"

The answer to that question is: yes.

Hmmph!

*boggles*

They'd sell like mad. They're fantastic. I'd love nice high-quality printed and bound copies on my bookshelves.

And it really doesn't seem like he has much trouble with the continuing-writing thing.

Please keep bugging him for me. I want the Elf Sternberg Collection, Vol. 1 in my hands by next Christmas!

Uh, if no *publisher* would buy them...

...what about the print-on-demand variety?

Smith's laugh is raw Evil splashing across the inside of your screen. I can't wait for Revolutions. :)

Hmm... The red amanita shown in the clip is rather hypnotic, not to say hallusinogenic. Intriguing idea of comfort food...

The odds of me buying a nice-quality bound edition of the JE and having Elf autograph it are about 1 in 1, if there were someplace I could get such a thing.

Another buyer here -- especially if it was well-edited and came with the illustrated supplement "Encyclopedia Pendoriana" ... even after playing a Tindal character on a MUCK, I still want to know what one should really look like.
