Assuming they all vote together. Specter voted against the party line before, so I don't think we can assume he'll stop now.
What I don't get is his position on the EFCA. He voted for cloture for the 2007 version, but said he wouldn't do the same this year. The weird part is, now that he's jumped ship, he says he still won't vote for cloture, which will pretty much guarantee that labor will pressure the DNC to run somebody against him in the 2010 primary. I had thought his sudden opposition to the EFCA was just to shore up his Republican bona fides, but now I have no idea what's going on.
The Republican Party has lost its way... and is now going through the political equivalent of a psychotic break. I hope they manage to find their way back from the dark place they're in.
Former Republican John Cole: I'm still waiting on my Soros check and forty virgins, so don't get too excited, Arlen. Oh, and by the way, wingnuts - how is that Republican purity treating you? Is the GOP small enough to drown in a bathtub yet? Going to love hearing how a loyal foot soldier for three decades in the GOP wasn't "conservative enough."
Michelle Malkin: Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Commenter on Malkin's blog: The GOP Senate members need to walk out when Franken gets in for their 60 votes. The GOP members have no say, no contest with any bill now. What's the use of being there. So when the new bills and laws tank the GOP has had no input and its all the DEMS fault. There needs to be something in the US Constitution that should not allow such a one sided Congress. It's no different than the Politburo now.
Hey, guys, remember two years ago? Remember majority-of-the-majority? Remember dissent-is-treason? I sure do! The Democrats do suck, but c'mon, guys, this is your playbook you're complaining about here.

Of course, the real shame is that the supposedly-"liberal"-media isn't pointing out the sheer hypocrisy of what the GOP (God's Own Party) is doing.
