Muse must be taking the day off.
Apr. 8th, 2008 08:03 amNgh. Didn't sleep well at all last night and it shows. This morning, the Book ran headfirst into a brick wall. I've got the heroine out to the automated warehouse where she's supposed to make her first major rookie mistake and, well, I won't spoil it for you, but let's just say that if the Terrans are worried about avoiding a posthuman future then Mars just ain't the place to be. After several solid 500 to 1500 word days, this morning's wordcount is exactly zero. I wrote three paragraphs, then deleted them. I guess Muse is taking the day off or something. Current wordcount is 41,607. Not quite halfway there.
Muse doesn't work alone, you know. Oh, no, she has an entire cast of characters to work with. Shardik, Aaden, Misuko, Tainee, Yffi, are all bugging me, "When are you going to write our stories?" Soon, guys, really. A thousand words a day. But I can't let myself be distracted now, or I'll never get back to it.
Got into the office this morning to discover my headphones, you know, the ones I patched a couple of weeks ago, lying on the floor with the plug ripped out. I suspect services ran over them with a vacuum cleaner last night. Time to get out the soldering iron again.
My knee was particularily bad the past three days, but today it's pain free. I've been more assiduous about doing the exercises that keep it going.
And, ugh twice, Omaha has political events tonight and Wednesday, meaning I'm completely nailed down at home in the evenings this week. Frack. When did life become so busy?
