Color. Flesh. Woah.

I love photography, good design, great costuming, and all that stuff that is usually the province of men much queerer than I am. I also keep my eyes open for anything that could be transplanted, without much modification, into a far future.

Even with all that, I'm unprepared for what went down in Brazil Sunday night. The photos from Carnival 2008 are just mind-boggling. Three photographers I can point you to are:

• Sergio Fonseca
• Angelo Satori
• Quasebart

Just the mosaics of thumbnails are an overwhelming riot of primary colors. So pretty!

When New Orleans really recovers we'll have to go to one of the Grandee Bal Masques. (My brother lives there and I used to go every year... Took /Mom/ to the Lords of Leather Bal Masque. Having invites to the Grande' shows (like these) are AMAZING.

Wow! I love bold colors.

I liked the lighting on Satori's pics, but Quasebart seemed to have better focus on points of interest in them. Fonseca's were colorful, but contained too much in one pic, making them rather discordant.
