I seem to have this weird issue where, when I'm looking through my iPod, I'll see albums pass by and think, "I'll never listen to that again, not when there's much better music on my hard drive waiting for its turn in the iPod queue," but when I actually go to gTunes and start looking through the list of albums, I can't seem to recall which ones I wanted to delete. They all look equally valid to me there.

I wonder why that is. Maybe it's because I'm actually out to take the step of deleting them from the iPod, rather than randomly considering how those songs are cluttering up my drive.

I only sync playlists to the ipod. Most of the albums on my hard drive are not on the ipod.

Here's a crazy low-tech idea: When you note the ones on your i-pod you want to delete, write the title in your notebook, then mark them somehow when you look at your main music drive.

When next you run across such an album, open up a song from it, hit the center button twice, and rate it at 1 star. Later, go to itunes, sync your ipod, and then go searching for albums that have marks of 1 star.
