Silly ad!

So, there's this ad in The Stranger. It's for a dating service and it shows a hot, somewhat trashy-looking blond in a cocktail dress. Below the picture it says: "1:2 She's married. 1:5 She's already 'meeting someone'. 1:25 She's a dude. Don't like your odds? Use us!"

I'm like, okay, the second one sorta takes her out of the picture, and the first one may or may not complicate matters, but why is the third one a problem?

Maybe the ads not aimed in my direction.

I'd lump the first two together--different levels of commitment, but the same basic problem.

"Dude"? Somebody just cut the rope on the portcullis of the cultural gatehouse.

But, yeah, I doubt we're the target demographic. And could either of us write an honest advert that would get published?

I still don't get the importance of the dangly parts attached to a personality...

Hell sometimes I feel like that last one would be a bonus!

Definitely not aimed in our direction. ;) Heck, probably most (if not all) my flist's direction.
I'm actually kinda surprised, I thought the Stranger was a bit more bent than that. I guess it could just be that the dating service in question doesn't know its demographic as well as it might think. ^___^
