If the Journal Entries were ever made into a movie, I'd move Heaven and Earth to make the opening theme Perpetuum Mobile by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Don't even watch the video; it's distracting. Just listen to it.

It is the piece, 4:08 long, mentioned in the episode Compounded Error.

Simon Jeffes died way, way too young.

Very pretty!

It really does make me think of mad science, though.

Glorious! (I didn't mind the video a bit, but I'm a bit geeky that way)

That was neat! I'm going to have to look up their stuff now.

Thanks!

Such a hopeful, content piece.

To me it has a similar quality to Jose Gonzalez' cover of The Knife's Heartbeats (used in that Sony Bravia bouncing balls ad).

It almost killed me when Simon Jeffes died. It really did. I can never, ever get enough of his music, or the Penguin's performances of it. I was an instant fan, almost from the moment the needle hit the vinyl of their first record in 1976. I always want to play his song "Zopf B: In A Sydney Motel" in the dungeon because it's so tragically beautiful. But I think it would be pretty disconcerting to find oneself bound and hearing the words "Oh - what a complete outfit for a double suicide!" coming so balefully from the speakers. So I never play it.
