elfsThis week has been relatively unproductive in terms of output. Here are my current writing projects:
Fallen Star was just a whole novel idea I had one afternoon, wandering into pulp singularity territory with the idea of a young princess from an arrogant posthuman culture that "falls to earth" (quite literally, in the opening chapter) and gets adopted by a group of back-to-the-land types; part "Superman" pastiche, part "The Risen Empire," and part coming of age story (those seem to be popular). The novel is told in alternating Carey-esque "what's happening to her" and Weber-esque "what's happening as The Star Empire With A Vaguely Threatening Name and The Federation Of Ordinary And Likeable Humans Protected By Friendly AIs rattle swords at one another" chapters.
Still, I'm disappointed by how slow everything's going while life goes on around me. I haven't had much of a chance to update the website, but I did get the LaTeX toolchain back and have managed to compile Aimee and Pyu Rika into a 180-page book. Now I need to proof it and choose cover art.
Yeah, in my copious spare time.

- Moon, Sun, Dragons: stalled at 12,000 words
- Janae: stalled at 29,464 words
- Falling Star: stalled at 8000 words
- Treehouses: in final draft at 24,407 words
