The optometrist won't FOAD!

I took Yamaraashi-chan to the optometrist's this morning for her six-month eye exam. It was pretty routine; she's healthy in all respects.

A couple of visits back, I blogged that one of the eye-test slides had a popular mostly net-only obscenity on it, FOAD, or Fuck Off And Die. I mentioned to the technician that she should probably fix that.

I had to laugh when I saw it this time. She had indeed fixed it. Y'know what it says now?

DOAF.

Plus, my eye doctor has me read the letters backwards some times.

*chuckles* -- we do that -- especially for patients we see a lot. It's easy to memorize something in one direction and very hard to recall in reverse. Just try to recite the alphabet backwards without deliberate concentration.
