The state platform of the Oregon Republican Party once held this little gem: "7.5 Inter-jurisdictional agency cooperation shall be improved for more effective joint action against organized crime, drug cartels, terrorist networks and the Oregon Democratic Party."

Uh-huh.

In a similar vein, the Virginia GOP will require everyone registering as a Republican to sign a loyalty oath to the party. That's very American of them.

Not sure if it's a joke or if they have the same problem Washington has. Ralph Munro, one of the recent Rs to hold statewide office, was quoted in 94 as saying:
"If [the leaders of the state Republican party] ever want to win a statewide election, they'd better stick to issues that people really care about. The less explosive and divisive we become, the more centrist, the better."
But, I guess they don't. I haven't seen witchcraft, yoga, or globalism in their party platforms lately - too busy nattering about anti-immigration policy and Homeland Security. (HOW do people say that with a straight face? It's so Orwellian.)
