Y'know what I like about manga? It dares to ask difficult questions. Questions like: "What if the Lone Ranger and Tonto were a pair of highly competent oversexed bubble-breasted nymphomaniac women?"

Y'know what I dislike about manga? Every yaoi artist out there sucks. Every one of them. Couldn't draw a nose that didn't look like a deadly weapon to save his life.

Which part? The Lone Ranger & Tonto, or the truth about Yaoi artists?

Both parts, but especially the bit about yaoi artists. That one launched a discussion last night about exactly why men in yaoi have faces that could be used to split logs. The general consensus was that boy-faces are pointy so you can tell them apart from girl-faces, that being just about the only distinguishing factor involved...

Is it wrong that upon reading the first statement the very first thing I thought if was The Dirty Pair?

Maelstrom Angel's lead character is explicitly described in the design docs as the parthenogenic love child of Dana Scully and Rally Vincent.

I love manga.

Yesterday, I saw Harry Potter fanart where Snape had a pointy, upturned nose.

That's one of my all-time favorite tunes. Easily in my top 50.

Yes manga does indeed dare to ask some outlandish questions that I love seeing the end results of. *giggle*

As far as the artists go (a lot of them do have a *cough* unique style of art) But not all of it sucks you just have to look hard ... really hard.

On the one hand, you've got Tateno, who virtually created the ubersharp style and perpetually unhappy endings, and on the other you've PoJu, who I sometimes wonder if he can draw anything that doesn't look thirteen years old. Ah, well. There's gotta be something out there that appeals to me, and it's such a time-eater to flip through it all looking for than one decent artist.

(And when you do, after you've sucked down every good thing he's done... you have to wait for more!)

That is very true *sighs deeply* I find that looking for Manga online is the way to go. If you are dependent on stores/shops you will be lacking in options for sure!

I am not familiar with PoJu I will have to check him out. Got any "must reads" of his you can name off the top of your head?

Are you familiar with the furry Monty, from Team Trump? Same guy. And no, I don't think I can recommend anything in particular of his. You could google for "Po Ju" and see what comes up, especially at images.google.com.
