Sunday was spent in a frenzy of cleaning: change the bedsheets, wash the bathrooms, scrub the bathtub, scour the kitchen, clean all of the kid's bathtoys in bleach. I have not spent that much time in a chlorine induced haze since... well, since the day before. Olo puts a lot of chlorine in their pool.

Today, I went by the grocery to pick up some milk and other stuff and when I put my loyalty card into the machine the coupon printer immediately clattered and spat something out. This was something targeted at me, not necessarily at a product I was buying. It might have been the special of the day, but somehow I doubt that what it gave to me it would have given to a teenager: three dollars off a six-pack of Ensure.

"Without Metro-Cal, this would not be possible." (Obscure MST3K joke) Y'know, I'm not old enough for advertisers to be passing me coupons for senior-citizen nutrition drinks. (Cue rant about the difference between nutrition... and food.)

Actually, you are in one of the prime age groups for that advertising; adults old enough to have parent(s) who may need the product, but are too proud to start on it themselves.

And some folks use it as a meal reaplcement, when trying to drop some weight.

So, neither really is flattering. :-/

Ensure's not the best choice for that, it's not exactly low calorie..
I've had friends my age (mid-20s) add it to meals when they were trying to gain weight. (ballerina body-types that were trying to look a little less fragile)

Evil trick with those cards...

See if there's an option for "forgot your card". If there is, it'll likely ask for your phone number.

Try entering [your area code]-123-4567

I know it works at Albertsons, Fred Meyer and am told it works at Safeway.

Now, if you actually want the mailings and all that, this is no good. If you want to mess up their database, on the other hand...

I use 425-896-8080

It's apparently the old Microsoft main number.
