elfsOmaha said she wasn't feeling well Friday night, so I dug some of the turkey broth out of the freezer outside and, with the contents of my pantry made a delicious and dense turkey and chicken noodle soup (I kinda mixed broths and used a turkey breast for the meat). We put the girls to bed on time, but I stayed up late to watch the last episodes of Mai HiME that I had yet to watch, getting ready to watch My Otome, which I tanked on the last time. But then I didn't have much time when the series first came out so I lost time and attention on it.
This morning was beautiful, cool but sunny, and Omaha and I worked outside on the front of the house. The slope that leads down to the garage was utterly grungy, so I shoveled and swept and powerwashed the storm drains and cut back the ground cover that had completely overgrown the old retaining wall along the front of the house. Thank the gods the previous owner had the sense to make that one out of stone. I don't want to replace another wall. The girls ran around outside and played "cops". That's right, just "cops." Apparently, playing "cops" these days involves walking up to people, flashing a badge and asking pointed questions. Yamaraashi-chan is apparently a CSI fan at her mother's house; I'm not sure I approve.
At two, Kouryou-chan had a birthday party to go to. It was at a swimming pool, so I watched her swim around with her friends. At least, I tried to. I seem to have fallen asleep, which surprised me because I slept well the night before. Maybe it's the damn Cipro the doc gave me for this skin infection I'm fighting. Anyway, I woke up in time for cake and the pinata, by which time it was past four. When I got home, I lay down and didn't wake up until six.
Omaha and I had a quiet evening after that. I'm sorry I missed this month's Bi & Bi social, though. Omaha and I tried out a couple of new Quake 4 maps. She totally kicked my ass on one called "Labia" (appropriate, that) and I did a pretty good job of returning the favor on "Tormentor."
