You know the Bible 82%!

Wow! You are truly a student of the Bible! Some of the questions were difficult, but they didn't slow you down! You know the books, the characters, the events . . . Very impressive!

I'm actually very disappointed, considering I've read the bloody thing in both the original Hebrew (the Tanakh) and an RC Latin translation.

Alas, I am a PK, so ..well, I had an unfair advantage. ;-)

Not sure I'd trust the results

I haven't read the whole bible. I too scored an 82%. So, I'd be wary of the results. I did attend church quite a bit as a child and I know I remember things well, but I'm thinking you should do much better than I did.

I got 72% and I don't read the bible. Be Jewish I don't know much about the New Testament. I guess it all the bible movies I seen. It also could be that I am a good guesser.

With a disgustingly thorough grounding in it (I read the whole thing in the original Hebrew, too - because that is a mandatory part of the curriculum in state schools in Israel), I got 93%.

The ones I didn't know were New Testament ones. While I have certainly read it (although - in Hebrew. I was in my twenties before I got my hands on a King James translation into English), I wasn't drilled in it the way I was with the O.T.

I guessed at a few, mostly about which book follows which. How can that really matter? But I got 98% after reading the KJV once in my teens.

I didn't find it at all difficult, and several of the questions had a couple of answers that were obviously nonsense, which greatly reduced the number of decisions I had to make.

But then I have an unfair advantage.

I surprised myself with an 83%, but then again the last time I read it through was almost 30 years ago.

I got 100%, which was actually rather disappointing since I was hoping I'd have forgotten all that indoctrination by now.

That's exactly how I felt. I guess there's some sort of pride knowing that I could still score better on the average biblical quiz than a current believer, but at some level, I'd still like to be able to put it behind me. :)

Of course, my bf (who has never read it) scored a 64... it wasn't a great quiz. *laughs*

Oh, man, didn't you know? Wizards of the Coast bought the rights to the Bible. Have you read the Fourth Edition books yet? They claim to have simplified the combat system, neutered the magic users and made Paladins more powerful than the Barbarian class. Oh, and Clerics can now eventually become Pope after 40th level.

But apparently you must not have read the "true" version. That being whatever version the quiz maker used...

I mean really, look at question 8.

How did the Israelites get into Egypt in the first place?
- on bicycles
- by train
- They swam.
- Joseph's brothers sold him.

Yah, of those choices it would be Joseph's brothers sold him, but that's not the accurate answer to the question posed.

I got 93%, but with questions like that the quiz seems pretty meaninglass. There were others.

You read Hebrew and Latin?! You continue to surprise me.

I've been meaning to read the bible one day -- I've always wondered what all the fuss is about.

I was required to learn Hebrew between the ages of 9 and 13 to qualify for my Bar Mitzvah. Now, I don't think I'd recognize the word STOP in Hebrew if it were surrounded by a bright red octagonal sign.

I switched to Latin in the forms and took five years of it. I can still read Caesar, but I need a dictionary close at hand.

Got 64% based on common sense guesses and what I recall hearing people mention. Never read it, never will.

Picked up an 86%, which seems pretty tolerable considering the only book of the Christian bible I've read is Revelation to see what the fuss was about.

Funny IMHO

The quiz's final question (when/whether/how much you've read the Bible, as self-reported) changes your answer by a few points! :-)

I got 95%, much of it by guessing.
