Yamaraashi-chan and I were talking this morning, and I mentioned that her style of play with her little sister tends to consist strongly of leader and follower. I said, "Sometimes, Kouryou-chan just sorta runs you over."

Yamaraashi-chan said, "What does 'run over' mean in this context?"

Good grief. Who taught my kid to talk like that?

I'm sure she overheard some geek using that phrase, and probably wanted to emulate him. :-)

It's a good habit to get into, making sure you understand what's being said.

I remember asking a 5yr-old geeklet, after she'd been telling her father "no" to a bunch of things, if she was "contrarian". She refused to answer until we defined it. At which point, she denied being so, much to our amusement.

It's so weird to hear your own phrases coming out of your kid's mouth.
