Date: 2006-12-12 06:43 pm (UTC)I played this three years running, on cello and bass. One year I staged a protest, and had the entire orchestra turn their stands to face the conductor while we played it. One of the cello players couldn't do it, and not because she forgot where the crescendo went.
(Spelling nit: it's Pachelbel.)

Date: 2006-12-12 07:08 pm (UTC)We played an arrangement in wind band. I played clarinet, which is the woodwind equivalent of either a cello or viola depending on who the arranger is.
I do actually love the piece, but only if it's played well, which it usually isn't. I have a rant on lazy musicians but I'll skip that for today.
