Trick or Treat

"It was the most boringest Halloween ever!" I think Yamaraashi-chan has outgrown the whole Trick-or-Treat thing, putting her into that awkward age between getting candy and going to peer-ready Halloween parties.
Kouryou-chan, on the other hand, was thrilled to come home with a huge stash of stuff. By the time we had finished going around our block her hands were so cold she was having trouble holding her pumpkin, but she continued to insist that her costume was warm enough. It was hovering around forty out there.
We got home and I did the parental thing, going through the candy for suspicious items. There were none. Apparently, "Halloween tampering" is about as urban-legend as it gets. "Police say tampering is rare," go most of the reports. I'd say it's damn near non-existent.

And I lived in a tiny village of 2000.
