It seems to be the day for posting photos, I think. Last night, FallenPegasus came over and we played a few rounds of Uno, watched a flick, and generally had a congenial time. This morning, I made a breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast and bacon, and restocked on my favorite secret ingredient. Yamaraashi-chan thinks the label is hilarious. Two years ago, Omaha instituted a plan of labelling absolutely everything that goes into the 'fridge so we know when to throw it out, and it works quite well, actually, although it gives me an excuse to do things like what's in the photo. (For the longest time, Kouryou-chan thought soup was spelled sooooooop.)
Kouryou-chan had a playdate-cum-modeling job (really!) with a friend from school and the friend's father, who's a professional photographer for advertising inserts. He was shooting a playset and needed a bunch of kids who could hang from the monkeybars repeatedly and without falling: Kouryou-chan's his simian.
That allowed Omaha and I to catch up on some housework, roast pumpkin seeds (coat 1 cup of seeds in 1 tbsp. melted butter and bake at 300 deg for 40 minutes, stirring every ten minutes, until brown. Might need salt, can take garlic powder, smoked paprika, curry or cayenne), make iced tea, clean the kitchen, do paperwork, and run errands about the town.
We were in the Southcenter Shopping District, so we stopped at the mall for lunch. Is it just me, or are lots of women wearing, well, "prickly" makeup? There seems to be a harsh, combative buzz to the look this fall and it's not a pleasant one.
We got home about the same time as Kouryou-chan, and Omaha set me to work trying to fix up the CMS on her website while she hacks on something more fundamental. We're so geeky here.
