Good grief, John McCain!

This morning I heard John McCain saying, "President Obama needs to figure out how to put these controversies behind him."

He might have better luck if McCain could reign in his own f'ing party and have them stop obstructing him. What most Republicans understand (but McCain apparently hasn't) is that the presidents governs rather than leads, so obstructing him is easy. When Bush was in the White House, Democrats continued to pretend that he was governing when in fact he was trying to lead, which is why his presidency was such a disaster.

If McCain wants Obama to get things done, stop with the nonsense, disempower Mr. Grand Theft Auto, and let the government have a president.

Maybe Obama's administration should stop breaking the law, thinking that the Bill of Rights doesn't apply to them. Then this rookie POTUS wouldn't have so many scandals to run away from.

The nice thing about the Obama administration is how pathetically sad all of the complaints about "illegality" have been.

The truly illegal things I'm upset with Obama about-- mostly his obvious arrogation of war powers without the consent of Congress-- no Republican wants to step on him for, because they want that power for themselves when one of theirs reoccupies the White House.

I would think that Congress' chronic unwillingness to go to the mattresses over its War Powers Resolution authority constitutes consent, of a sort: not staying yes, but also not saying no while allowing the thing to continue, doesn't exactly convey displeasure at the current arrangement. I'd put the use of signing statements by POTUS in the same category.

I don't find them all that "pathetically sad" as you put it... just not followed up on by his cult-like followers and dismissed as political posturing.

Now that even members inside the White House are showing signs of turning on AG Eric Holder, perhaps Obama's top cop will finally be pressured into giving up his boss instead of covering for him.

This was from MSNBC on Monday morning... one of the more liberal news outlets, and even they are saying that Holder is losing support from within the White House itself.

Now, he's getting even more heat as he will have to answer an inquiry about his perjury to congress in March... this following last year's congressional finding of Holder in Contempt of Congress.

So... you have to think that (a) Eric Holder is a loose canon that Obama can't control, (b) Obama is too incompetent a president to know what his own administration is doing, or (c), Holder was working under Obama's direction, and is now going to fall on his sword as the patsy to protect his dear leader.
