Nearly ubiquitous free wifi...
Jul. 14th, 2006 08:08 amI was driving Omaha to a meeting the other day. She had her laptop open and was reviewing the documents she needed, when she cursed briefly. "I'm missing one of the documents. I know where it is on the net, but I didn't grab it before we left." I spotted a standalone, non-chain cafe' standing by the edge of the road, across from the restaurant where her meeting was taking place. It was closed.
I pulled into the drive through. "What are we doing here?" she asked.
"Do they have wifi?"
"I doubt it." But they did, and she was able to retrieve the documentation she needed before the meeting. The signal was weak from the parking lot but it was enough.
How fun!
