Save the Black Thinkpad!
Dec. 29th, 2005 01:38 pmThis is a link to an advertisement. But dammit, this is serious business. I'm a Thinkpad bigot; I've owned three of things over the past eight years and I have enjoyed owning them: they're smaller, lighter, more robust, more compliant, more everything that I've wanted from a laptop than the Hewlett Packards and Toshibas I've had to use from time to time.
Lenovo is considering "evolving" the Thinkpad: instead of the traditional black, they're thinking about having a "titanium" colored version , and they're holding a vote.
Vote Black! Save the Thinkpad!

Dell had a cute approach to this on the Inspiron 4000 (which I now have): The laptop comes with a set of snap-out plastic panels for the top cover and the wrist rests: You can have black, grey, a blue not dissimilar from the default dark blue bar in my journal style, or (ack) yellow. Mix'n'match to your heart's content.
