Save the Black Thinkpad!

This is a link to an advertisement. But dammit, this is serious business. I'm a Thinkpad bigot; I've owned three of things over the past eight years and I have enjoyed owning them: they're smaller, lighter, more robust, more compliant, more everything that I've wanted from a laptop than the Hewlett Packards and Toshibas I've had to use from time to time.

Lenovo is considering "evolving" the Thinkpad: instead of the traditional black, they're thinking about having a "titanium" colored version , and they're holding a vote.

Vote Black! Save the Thinkpad!

Forget about black ... I know it'll cost a fortune, but how about aluminum oxynitride (transparent aluminum)?

Far cheaper, nearly as sexy would be lexan. I knew a chappie once who epoxied lexan together and made himself a clear case about the size of a Shuttle... sure, it wasn't much for rounded edges, but it still looked nice.
