Okay, this is a stupid question, but I'm clueless. The grocery stores I visit have only a few flavors, the small trivialities used for coffee, like hazelnut and, if you're lucky, a mint or two. Where does one go to buy all of the other flavors of syrup, like watermelon and kiwi? I'd like to make Italian sodas this summer, and I'd like to know where I can find the smaller-sized bottles of more interesting flavors.

I third the two other suggestions for Cost Plus World Market. They also have a nice variety of other food and beverages that you do not usually find in the stores. Most have a rather nice wine selection if you are into that, including the smaller 150mL bottles so you can sample.
