Kouryou-chan climbs a tree at Oloteas
Images hosted on Flickr!

We took the girls to Oloteas on Saturday, where we all had a great time. We started out late; I wanted to get there by three, so we would have time to swim and socialize, but real life and housework got in the way and we didn't get out of there until four, so we didn't get to the Longhouse until almost five.

Still, the girls instantly took to the swimming pool. Yamaarashi-chan demonstrated her doggy-paddle with efficiency, swimming about the pool as if she owned the place. She's still not drownproof, but she's getting close. Kouryou-chan can't manage without a floatation device of some kind; she has no bodyfat to speak of and sinks like a stone, but she loved demonstrating her ability to jump into the pool from the edge with just a foam float under her arms.

After fishing them out of the pool, we let them dry off and climb trees while we waited for dinner. The potluck ran out of food fast and I had some ideas for what to make for the next one, although it means I'll have to get my long, pointy knife sharpened for what I want to cook. Still, we all ate reasonably well.

The ceremony was nice. I held Yamaarashi-chan's hand as we went out and walked through the labyrinth, then attended the small tent where we asked for the Goddess to help us with our own healing. In my case, and I hope Yamaarashi's (although I didn't ask her; it was her private decision to make) it was for the fractures and stresses created by all the recent legal wrangling.

Afterwards, the kids dove back into the pool. The ever-lovely [livejournal.com profile] shemayazi joined Omaha and I in the pool and we just relaxed and chatted while simultaneously I fretted over the safety of my girls. The lovely [livejournal.com profile] damiana_swan wandered through, as did many others whose names I can no longer remember. Still, a good weekend all around.

That's one of those questions where, if you don't already know what's going on, it is impolite to ask.

You know, hon, someone new to your blog might not know that it was impolite. They might only know that they hadn't read back far enough to have read about it. Don't be snarky just because you're irritated about the legal stuff.

Thank you! It's rare, though, to find an uncute little girl. See the next post, where five girls of weapons-grade kyootness are concentrated in one place. Scary!

I am soooo frigging excited. Little minds I get to warp. I need to get my knee back into shape so I can play football with them. At least I have a little while where rocking on the shoulder or a tickle session will suffice. Really having mysister spawn is the best. I get to have children I'm connected to, who's lives I can be part of, without spanwning myself.{:o)

You are blessed with the skill to create and write, and on TOP of it you got cute little girls! Just damn. :-)

Are you using a new utility to post to LJ? The format of your posts has changed(at least from my persepective), and I'd be interested in how it was done.

Thanks!

No, same as always: just plain emacs. I do embed some html and style sheets in the page when I write, and I go back and edit it to make it right, since I get really annoyed at borken HTML. What's changed?

Looks good.. the layout and formatting with the pictures I think is what changed. It looks fine though.

On another unrelated note... have you ever considered a bound and printed edition of the Journal Entries? They are seriously, some of the very best writing I've encountered online. Period.

That one is cute... the one I think I like the most is the one on this post, however.. hehe..

Simple...elegant.. and caused me to do a quadruple take when I first saw it.. :-)
