[Anime] Sukisyo, ep 1
Jan. 24th, 2005 09:19 pmOkay, only episode 1 is out and I don't know if the fansub group that was doing this one is going to do more. I have my doubts it's going to be terribly popular, but I enjoyed it. Y'know how shows like Kannaduki No Miko and Maria-sama Ga Miteru are, well, for guys who like watching girls angst about girls? So now there's Sukisyo, which is about watching guys angst about, that's right, guys.
And oh, man, what an opener. Hashiba, our nominal hero and a college student, is confronted in his dormroom bed by a very beautiful young man, Ran Fujimori. He reject Fujimori's advances and retreats to the showers, where he discovers he's, um, "agitated" by events. He returns to his dorm to discover that Fujimori is his roommate.
As it turns out, Hashiba was recently released from hospital after a fall from a fourth-floor window, and is apparently suffering significant memory loss. It's entirely possible, he admits, that Fujimori was close to him, but Hashiba is quite adamant that he's not queer. At least, he doesn't think he is.
As it turns out, this being anime, there's more going on than we are told by the opener. Hashiba is having visions, and "Ran" and "Fujimori" may or may not be two different people.
I'll just say this... if Ran showed up in my bed, I wouldn't kick him out! Yum!
