Well, it's been a day.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] fallenpegasus wandered over for Fish Friday; we made a halibut chowder that was quite delicious, then sat around chatting. Omaha had had a rough day and fell asleep while she and Kouryou-chan were reading stories, so Pegasus and I went downstairs where I showed him the strangeness of Kannaduki No Miko. He agreed that the opening music, candy-rave jpop, was completely inappropriate for a tragic love story, and the mecha battles were just silly.

Today, Omaha and I attended a "how to organize your closet" seminar that was unfortunately more a selling point for a particular brand of closet organization system than a real how-to; I'm still looking for a copy of Real Simple magazine's How To Organize Everything or whatever it's called. Then we went over to Cingular. We had changed our service three weeks ago, getting a small break on price and better, more modern phones when a day later we received a notice saying that if we "changed to Cingular we could get these nifty high-tech phones." Omaha, miffed, went it and said that since we were still in the 30-day grace period, she would very much like replace our entry-level phones with the mid-range stock-obsoleters in the flyers or we could take our business elsewhere. The salesgeek agreed.

It's been a slow day otherwise. Kouryou-chan and I played an epic game of checkers that took forever. I finished modifying narrator: aimee to handle multiple serials. Our bandwidth has been high and stable all day; I'm not sure what changes were made, but I've been able to suck down a lot of bittorrent, FTP, and Usenet stuff without pause all afternoon. New episodes of Ghost in the Shell and Starship Operators, yay!

I gave Kouryou-chan a bath after a dinner of leftovers, and now she's reading quietly to herself while Omaha chats with friends on the phone. She's a giggly little ball, that girl. And I just gotta say that Omaha is the most wonderful woman on the whole planet.

I had guessed that that seminar would be like that.

Yeah, me too. But often enough, they do have some how-to hands-on pratical information. I think the only thing I got out of the 20 minute presentation was the fact that they'll manually cut the shelves for you to fit at no cost, something that wasn't specified in the brochures.
