So, looking through the news today, I see that the big deal is the headline Teen Suicides Linked To Witchcraft. The article is remarkably scant on details, although typing 'knox witchcraft' brings up a few others. The writer of the article for WSBT News seems to be under the impression that "WICCA" [sic] is an acronym or something. There's also anti-Internet hysteria: "Since there's so much information about groups like Wicca on the Internet, make sure you talk to your kids about it!"

And while it's not very work safe, the current thread in Under Power is priceless, especially if you're a Miyazaki fan.

At least one story seemed to handle things properly, saying that parents should be talking to their kids about ANY religion, not just Wicca.

I know that most of the Wiccans I know won't teach teenagers, either, unless their parents are involved with it as well. In fact, at a Pagan Pride Day, a couple of teenaged girls asked, "Can we convert to Wicca?" and every witch within earshot all said, "NO!" :-)

Two thoughts...

Why did these two teenagers want to be reincarnated? Was it some crazy dream, or was there something badly wrong in their lives?

How do the police know it was suicide?
