Status and Stuff

I had Yamaarashi-chan over last night, and that was nice. There's not much to report there, although we did stop on the way home and pick up a bicycle helmet for her, since she said she didn't have one and now that we're all old enough to start riding it's time she learned. There were a couple of nice used girls' bicycles there that I'm thinking about buying for her upcoming birthday. It's too bad we're so broke this month. It's a good thing her birthday is next month. Omaha made a delicious Moroccan vegetarian stew over couscous, but the girls only ate the couscous. I also have two good ideas for what else Yamaarashi-chan should get for her birthday.

Now that I'm putting my archive back together again, and have a working laptop once more, I'm trying to figure out what I've got to post. As you can see, now that I'm back into some kind of groove, I have a couple of things to post. If I'm happy with Overextended (an old story; written about 1998) I'll post it this weekend. I should also generate more interest by posting my stuff to alt.sex.stories on a regular basis.

This is hardly all of it; this is just all of the stuff for which I have a working timeline. After this there's a big century-long gap where I had a couple of stories that are simply not worth posting. (Well, okay, Heather is salvageable, but ever since 9/11 the entire Terrorism cycle has become completely passe'.) And if I can get Cotton and The Chorus out the door I'll finally be into The Dreamteam Calamaties.

I guess I don't agree with that. While its certainly a touchy subject, one does not need to completely avoid it. Reasonable time has passed, and it would appear that you certainly haven't bowed to public opinion before...

However, if its of personal reasons that you wish to not pursue that story line, then I can respect that.

Well, I think it's more of a sense that doing it now would seem to be opportunistic. I started writing the story back in the late 90's when I stumbled across a U.S. Air Force report of what happens to the human body when one stands in front of a microwave radar station (It's pretty nasty).

At the time, writing about a "devastating terroist attack on Pendorian soil that's never seen war before, using the Pendorian infrastructure itself as the means of delivering the attack" seemed like a good idea. Now it just seems... wrong.

According to this post, I had the story more or less written in its complete form in early April, 1998.

Well, as a JE junkie, I would normally go to any length to try and convince you that any JE story, opportunistic or not, is a desirable one. But, as I said before, I respect your opinion.

i'd also be very interested. the only attacks on pendor i can bring to mind are right after earth-contact, and the nuclear weapon incident way later. (well, and a stabbing)
(personally) i think that if you ditch stuff you'd already written because of terrorists.. they've won (a little battle). but then i thought that retroactively editting the towers out of pictures/not showing things containing them was stupid (and trying to rename the two towers even more so).

however.. i just enjoy your stories. all decisions over them are yours
