Well, the Patriots won the Super Bowl

omahas, shaterri, and I. It was about all I had the braincells for after a day of cleaning house, including running out for the monthly warehouse shopping run. Kouryou-chan was pretty good about the whole trip, a little restless towards the end, but she managed to make it through the whole day without getting into too much trouble. Omaha put her hair up in pigtails and she looks adorable. She's also addicted to that "Smack the Penguin" game that technoshaman pointed out a couple days ago in his journal.
I'm pleased to see that the new Journal Entry went up without a problem. That's one of those smack-the-head "DUH!" moments that I wish I had more often. I've had code to display the stories in the order in which they were printed for years, which means that the story database has the publication date, but it never occurred to me that I could also exclude stories from view based on the notion that their publication date is sometime in the future. It was two freakin' lines of code! DUH. Silly Elf. Silly, silly Elf. And it's not that I don't have the stories written on time. It's frequently more like I forget to post them. I'm the world's worst procrastinator. If it's not mission-critical, "I'll get around to it later," I tend to forget about it.
I tried three new programs for the palm: Checklist, Teapot, and My Little Black Book.
Checklist was okay. In fact, of all the programs I tried, it was the one I most wanted to keep. Unfortunately it has a serious addressing error that crashes the palm on a regular basis. It's just what it say it is: a checklist program. You make lists, and it will let you check off items. It's kinda like the to-do list, but with more features. It's general enough for grocery lists, lists of things you'd want to read or buy someday. It's missing another important feature: attaching a note to an item.
My Little Black Book is exactly that, a little black book. It has entries for things your date likes and a checklist of general impressions. Cute, but I think I'll stick to attaching notes to things in my address book.
And Teapot is also a cute, animated picture of a cup of tea (or coffee) with a countdown timer and four pre-set intervals for timing the perfect cup. Again, like My Little Black Book, I declined to keep it because it doesn't do anything Big Clock doesn't, and it's not as general-purpose.

Re: errr....uh oh.....
Date: 2004-02-02 05:57 am (UTC)I doubt exposure to a breast would scar Kouryou-chan anyway. It's not like her Mom doesn't have them, and I doubt anything they did in a public space like The Super Bowl would convert into "things I should do or talk about with my friends."
She found the actual game terribly boring, and spent most of it trying to get the grownups to do something else, like play with her.
