Bittorrent is evil! Evil, I tell you! The enemy of hard-drive space everywhere! I can't believe I allowed myself a taste of this dangerous, horrible, nasty, evil, addictive software. It's not just that you've gotten me hooked on Read Or Die: TV, but what is this Naruto thing?

Gads, I'm now jonesing for Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto (Things Precious to a Mage).

Evil, evil bittorrent. Next thing you know, I'll be downloading episodes of Spooks before they're released (as "MI-5") on A&E. And it doesn't help that, unlike television, it's portable: I can play these things on my laptop. Anywhere.

Ah, well. I only have one more story to release before the end of the year, and then we'll see what 2004 has in store for The Journal Entries, hmm?

mmm, bittorrent...

Gunslinger Girl, Galaxy Railways, the Chrono Trigger OVA, and live-action Sailor Moon.

Full Metal Alchemist, GetBackers, PaPuWa, Violinist of Hameln, Ebichu, Kodomo no Omocha, Last Exile, Wolf's Rain, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Bittorrent isn't evil if you're a student. *g*

Ebichu... Hmm. Hamtaro porn.

It's not.. really porn. It's not intended to arouse in the same way porn usually is. It's sexual humor. Some of it is *quite* amusing. Definitely to be watched with other people, though, the same way shows like Excel are.

Yeah, I understood that from the summary. It's just not to my tastes. As I wrote to someone earlier, I don't really "like" anime anymore than I "like" Hollywood or Bollywood or Disney; I like good stories told well, and the Read Or Die OAV or even something like Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien resonates with me in a way that Ebichu or Naruto did not.

Believe it or not, I still haven't seen Evangelion.

I believe it. I'm still not sure whether I like Evangelion - or Lain for that matter. They both have interesting elements, but neither of them manages to tell its story completely. They both tell fragments, but leave the watcher wondering what is happening. That's great for the early parts of a story, but I like for the big things to be at least mostly explained in the end - and neither of those does that.

Yeah, some series draw me, and some don't. At the moment, I'm watching ROD TV and Gunslinger Girl. I download GitS SAC when I can find it (mostly on eDonkey) and am still towards the beginning of Witch Hunter Robin. I'm hoping that that last will make more sense towards the end.

Don't forget that Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto is now out on DVD (well DVD 1 + Box). And USENET is even more evil if you have a good news server. I was up to 2GB/week of just anime. I need to get back into that. I cracked the 1k episode mark and got lazy ^_^

And an amazing thing, Azumanga Daioh was announced for US release. It is amazing that something that requires quite a bit of Japanese social knowledge would be greenlighted for the US.

Oh christ. Maybe it's a good thing I'm only on dialup.

Wait.. what am I saying? That's retarded. GIVE ME BROADBAND OR GIVE ME TIME WITH MY FAMILY.

Actually, I haven't found that to be a problem. I end up with the Douglas Adams syndrome a'la TiVo: "Dishwashers are there to wash boring dishes for you. TiVo is there to watch boring TV for you." And I still have a hour commute three to four times a week, and a half hour at lunch. I'll probably watch them at lunch, since I can't legitimately write in that time slot.
