Friday evening [livejournal.com profile] wendor came up from Las Vegas to recover from stresses that are his to discuss. He came over after dinner, so [livejournal.com profile] omahas made a very lovely pork and root vegetable stew which, despite its inherent sweetness, Kouryou-chan did not like. We tried everything, but eventually she just decided she didn't want to eat it. Wendor showed up after Kouryou-chan and I had gone to bed.

Saturday, I arose and ran around town for most of the day, collecting the essential ingredients both for Kouryou-chan's upcoming birthday and for dinner that evening. Ultimately, my quest was for naught; I was unaware that tenderloin was $17 a pound retail, and decided ultimately that, for that much money, someone else should cook dinner. We went to eat. It was nice to drive around for a while; normally, I loathe driving, but this wasn't rush-hour traffic, I had no real deadlines, and the car had recently been tuned up and was quite nice to drive, for a station wagon.

Sunday was some of the same. This time, Omaha and Wendor went out to do a little shopping while Kouryou-chan and I stayed home. We played on a really complicated puzzle until she got bored, then watched some television and just kinda fumped around. During the commercials I swapped panels on my scanner; I've been digitizing most of my furry art collection into a more stable and portable format than paper. Lunch was tuna fish sandwiches; I tried to teach Kouryou-chan how to use the can-opener, but it took more muscle power than she has to turn it. We saw Wendor off then sat down to leftovers. Omaha wasn't feeling good so I took up the chores of changing the bedsheets and mopping the dining room and living room floors.

At one point while I was fiddling with my computer, I heard Kouryou-chan start screaming in a panicked voice from upstairs. She had reached over a chair arm to pick up a stuffed animal and had managed to wedge herself between the chair and the wall, without enough room to move her arms and lift herself out. I read to her (we found our copy of Fluff The Bunny! Yay!) and she was pretty good about going to bed.

This morning, I awoke around 5:20 and debated with myself, hard, about going to the pool. Eventually I did manage to get down there and, happily, drove myself through to 800 meters, most of it quite serious 50m/crawl, 50m/breastroke pairs until my arms hurt and my legs ached. I need to find a way to strengthen my abdominals, though; they don't seem to be doing much work in the pool and I'm not getting the plank right, or it's not working, or something. Only a little dizzy this morning, no nausea at all.

Right now, though, I'm wondering where in the Hell my morning went. Maybe it's the decaf.
