Should newspapers seek government approval before printing a story? 28% of Americans believe they should.

Should individuals be allowed to express in public views or opinions that might offend religious groups? 50% say no.

It's worth noting that 72% (73% by my reading, but the difference is minor) say that newspapers should be able to publish anything they like without government approval (11).

Also, 95% of those surveyed said that "people should be able to express unpopular opinions (11)."

not that he had anything to do with the first amendment, but i've been saying for a long time that ben franklin was america's first hippie. he introduced tofu to the united states, for cryin' out loud. (it didn't catch on til two hundred years later, almost...)

but the rest of 'em... yeah... they were damned hippies too. oh horrors!

im a huge supporter of the first amendment i believe in saying what ever the heck i feel like at any point in time with few exceptions like yelling fire in a movie theater

personaly i think that the more we as a people are exposed to the more we can choose from as food for our minds
i see people complaining that the us has violent problems cause of the number of violent acts depicted in the media but look at japan on their media they have 10x to 100x more graphic violence and sexualy explicit images yet they have only 6 -15 murders a year in tokyo

ok thats my rant for the day
