Police in Charlotte, North Carolina, continue to arrest men for sodomy despite the Supreme Court's ruling. The arrests are happening at a public park. The men aren't engaging in sodomy in public, but they're cruising. The police say that the Supreme Court's ruling concerned "private activities in one's home" whereas what these men are doing is "soliciting in public for crimes against nature" and that makes it an arrestable offense.

Pity the male of the spider species Argiope aurantia. For him, sex equals death. The spider dies instantly during intercourse. Let us all give a breath of thanks that we are not spiders.

Here's a really strange twist for you: In New York, a legislator is seeking to exempt school curricula from the state's Freedom of Information Act. The rationale is that if the public really knew about what was being taught in schools, they'd get all up in arms and teachers would engage in self-censorship of their materials to avoid controversy. Therefore, the solution to "academic freedom" is to deny those outside academia access to the academic materials being used.

India again: Two women were dragged from their homes by an angry mob and burned at the stake for being "witches". They were accused of making another woman ill.
