Well, it looks like I'm getting older

I woke up this morning deaf in the left ear.

I went to the doctor's office, grateful as always to actually have the coverage necessary to be able to visit at all, and discovered that I have a number of rather ordinary conditions, all of which add up to my being 46.85 years of age.

The nurse was the cheerful type who actually seemed thrilled to be able to drain my head of earwax, which appeared to be the bulk of the problem. Meanwhile, the ongoing inflammation appeared to be related to a psoriasis flare-up, and I should manage it with NSAIDs and warm presses and the usual things that guys my age should do.

Bleah.

Latest project: Tumble, a parser/renderer for a Tumblr-like templating language

I really like Tumblr’s templating language.  It’s simple, it makes sense for small contexts, and it’s easily extensible.  So I decided to make my own.  This will be the core of the next generation of the Narrator engine, the thing I use to render my stories and series.  It’s also not restricted to HTML; it actually doesn’t care much what it’s embedded in, so I can use this to render LaTeX documents as well, meaning that I might be getting close to a story engine that produces EPUB and printed matter automatically.

It’s fairly simple.  This is just version 0.0.1, so don’t expect it to be safe like liquid (although that’s ultimately a goal), and I’ve already had an idea for refining it further.  Check it out:
