In case anyone's curious...
Jan. 14th, 2008 02:30 pmIf the Journal Entries were ever made into a movie, I'd move Heaven and Earth to make the opening theme Perpetuum Mobile by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Don't even watch the video; it's distracting. Just listen to it.
It is the piece, 4:08 long, mentioned in the episode Compounded Error.
Simon Jeffes died way, way too young.

Sunday: Cleaning, Fixing, Celebrating
Jan. 14th, 2008 07:33 pmI spent most of Saturday either cooking, cleaning the kitchen, or cleaning my car. In the course of moving Lisa's stuff yesterday, we had to take Yamaraashi-chan's carseat out, and discovered underneath it that the kids had spilled something sugary and disgusting. There was mold. Yuck. So I went and bought a mold-removing upholstery cleaner, applied it to the seats (and the footwells, which were just getting dirty from rainy boots and ground-in mud), let it do its magic for twenty minutes, then went back outside with the carpet steam cleaner and squirted and sucked and squirted and sucked some more.
While I was doing this, a troop of young men armed with shovels came out of the house next door and started digging in my front yard. This is just one of those things we live with, having a flag property; the neighbors get to dig up your yard, it's their easement, if they have utility trouble. His pipes sprang a leak, and there's been water bubbling up on the edge of my property for weeks, and now was the day he chose to fix it.
We made our way to Raven's birthday party, where he had all the usual amazing array of beautiful people. I'm amazed at just how much breeding this community has done recently. Kouryou-chan loves the chimes on
shemayazi's bed, but not the way I do. We got home late, and went straight to bed.

Omaha's been gone to MacWorld for less than five hours now and I'm already jonesing for some adult interaction. The kids are driving me insane. With the more forceful and authoritarian Omaha gone, they're pushing as hard as they can. So far, I haven't given much ground, but they're still pushing, and they have much more energy than I do.
It's all
shemayazi and
omahas's fault for overdosing me this week.
It's all

vodou_chile for this one. Create a faux "first album." The rules are simple.
Of all five, I think "British Civil Light Transport" is the best. Obviously, I cheated just a bit, taking a longer quote than was offered, but otherwise I followed the rules.
- The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
- The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

- The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
