Nice weekend so far...

It's been a nice weekend since my last update. Haven't worked much on my story: I think I needed a break after the headfirstdraft speed at which I've been careering (and maybe careening).

Saturday evening we went to j5nn5r and desirae's house, where shastaw was cooking a vast dinner for everybody. The food was great, the company wonderful. It was nice to see j5nn5r's father again, even if he does seem so frail and so subject to the vicissitudes of the environment.

When we got home aronud midnight, I was so exhausted I fell straight asleep, only to be awakened a few hours later with great pain in my jaw. I hadn't brushed my teeth before going to bed, and something lodged in there was hurting bad. To quote the great Robert Anton Wilson, flossing is the answer.

Today is mellower. I played a level of Freespace 2 and have been spending the morning cleaning up the kitchen. It needed it.

Snow?

It's snowing! It's snowing outside my window. Right now the ambient air temperature at ground level is supposed to be too high to support snow for long, but a real cold front is moving in early tomorrow morning. I hope this doesn't keep up too long; I have deadlines at work that I have to hit, and I can't work nearly as effectively over the VPN. For that matter, I don't think Omaha wants to spend tomorrow with both girls cooped up in the house.

But while it snowed Kouryou-chan and Yamaraashi-chan went outside and played in it, until Yamaraashi-chan fell and hurt her knee. With many tears and a big bandaid I comforted her until it was all better.

I've had a nasty headache and general pains all day. Not sure why.

Oh! And a minor pleasure: I now have Half-Life for Linux working! Not Half-Life 2, sadly, but it's a real start.
