Busy as a bee...

It has been a busy day here at Villa Sternberg. At six this morning, I awoke early to hack together a final parser for Omaha's company project, which needed hits and listener statistics for its RTSP server, the format for the logs of which were terrible and changing. I had to write a parser to read the first line, recognize the regularities (fortunately, the server puts a line in the logs listing them out), write a quick translation table, and spit the whole thing out to Apache. This was on top of a couple of custom splitters and all the rest, but it worked, and Omaha was able to take with her on her trip an archive of the log analyses for the past four months.

We then woke Kouryou-chan, and I made her breakfast and lunch while Omaha got her dressed, and between the two of us we managed to get her off to school without any fuss. I then took Omaha to the airport and put her on a plane for Oakland, CA, where she'll spend the next couple of days.

I then hurtled up to tygereclipse's place to pick her up and take her back down here to get the last of her stuff. That done, I did the dishes, then re-arranged the furniture in the living room, vacuumed and ran the steam cleaner over half of it. I'll do the other half on Wednesday. I fed TygerEclipse some leftover sausage, potato and lentil stew and warmed up the last green pepper and gruyere quesadilla for us, then sat back for some hard-drive cleaning. Eventually, I got Kouryou-chan from school and brought her home, then let her get her hour of television while I ran some new insulation around the front door's frame and nailed a wood slat back into place that had come loose-- we were losing a lot of heat through that.

I made dinner, home-made pasta sauce and fusilli, fed everybody, and took TygerEclipse home with a car packed full of her stuff.

I've been a bad boy, though. I did do my Japanese verbals, but haven't done written since Friday. I drew something yesterday, but it was awful. I'm tired, though. It's late. Kouryou-chan is already asleep.
