Sometimes it's nice to write in public. I'm sitting on the sidewalk here in Seattle on 1st Avenue, one block away from the Pike Place Market, and watching all of the beautiful people walk by. I've already written almost 700 words in the latest novella (and that's what it's becoming, a novella, as Wish recounts the number of lovers she has while on her vacation away from the Villa), so I feel it's time for a break.

And there are a lot of pretty people. There's a cadre of gorgeous Asian men standing about waiting for a bus, and the usual assortment of pretty girls are standing about and shivering. Earlier, though, I saw a woman, hard to describe... imagine Tracy Ullman, but inexplicably hotted up, with sharp cheekbones and elfin ears. Impossibly tall, with a black calf-length skirt, a tight sweater that showed off her more than adequate endowments, curly red hair with black highlights, and shiny, high, tall boots. I mean, nice boots!

Sorry, I should stop now.

On the other hand, there's this girl across from me with cute pigtail braids and what are, clearly Mesoamerican native genes, but can someone explain to me the attraction of a nose ring? It looks like she's got something hanging down from her nostrils and the first thing that occurs to me is not "Hot!"

Giggle. Someone found a Scientology screed from 1976 in a used bookstore and scanned it in. Check out the costumes! Check out the propoganda! Check out the journalism! A hilarious look at ancient religious technology.

You could probably cure some drug addictions with just the polyester slacks and groovy turtlenecks--they'd suffer through the withdrawl symptoms just to get you to stop wearing those clothes. ;-)
