Arrgh.

I have a wisdom tooth going bad. I have a dentist's appointment tomorrow to look at, and I hope he decides it needs to move right then and there, because a piece of it broke off today at lunch. It's sharp and cutting into my tongue, and it's really flamin' annoying. It's not painful otherwise, though, and I hope it lasts long enough that way for me to make it to the clinic.

I learned the hard way not to play chicken with dental visits, and got very lucky. Learn from my example.

Indeed.. According to my dentist I *might* need a root canal. However this was done via talking to her on the phone since she wasn't in the office today and I get to go in and see a dentist tomorrow to have them look at it and evaluate it.

Worse, I'm semi-phobic of dentists.. :( I am *not* a happy camper right now.

I'm pretty phobic about it too. Dentistry is painful no matter how well it's done, and the mouth is a pretty intimate place. I'm never happy with the idea that people are weilding all those rather nasty tools and chemicals in there.

But I suppose it's better than the alternative.

Well, I had the root canal this morning.. Doc said I will probably have pain for the next 3-5 days. Given that I tend to heal quickly I'm hoping for the shorter rather than the longer on that scale.. However, it does mean I won't be in to work tomorrow (and obviously I wasn't in today). My hope is that by Thursday my teeth will stop hurting sufficiently that I can stop taking the Vicodin and thus return to work.
