Nooze...

A lawyer in Marin County, California (a county famous for a number of rather silly laws, including one banning people from referring to themselves as "pet owners" (they are known as "pet guardian"), and a real estate board policy denying realtors the right to describe a site as "within walking distance" or having "a walk-in closet" because such a phrase is supposedly offensive to those who must use wheelchairs) has called for the banning of Oreo Cookies. His complaint alleges that Oreos contain transfat, a substance "known to be harmful to consumers."

In other news, look at this photo. It's spam for a contact lens company, but... from a distance, you can't tell me that they're aren't using a part of the anatomy a little lower down, and available on only half of all human beings, to attract a little attention.

Yahoo has something they call "The Most Popular News," which is simply the articles and news photos more people have clicked on than anything else. This has led to Elf's Rule: If the Most Popular News Photos section does not have at least one pretty girl on it, the world is in serious trouble.

And finally...

A bit of personal revelation. One of my ears is lower than the other. I've known this for years; it's terrible when I try to find sunglasses or prescription lenses, because it always takes some twisting to get the damn things to sit correctly when the right side is always dropping down lower than the left. Now comes news that this particular condition, dissymmetry of the ears, is associated with sub-optimal sperm quality. Doesn't seem to have affected Kouryou-chan very much, though.

Dissymmetry of the ears? I suppose it just means you have to work harder...

Marin County is one of the ten richest counties in the USA.

It's on the other side of The Golden Gate Bridge, from San Francisco.

Marin County is also heavily Democratic.

Then there's the Buck Trust, to be spent only on Marin County (there was an attempt to break the will - it famously failed).

Is it any wonder it's a slightly strange place?
