Oh, Great...
Mar. 21st, 2003 09:39 pmYamaarashi-chan informs me that her neck hurts, she feels very tired, she's not at all hungry, and now I learn that she has a fever.
It's only 99.2 right now. But she has this... this node on the side of her neck. She's always had it-- her physician said it's no big deal-- but now it's prominent and she says it hurts when she moves.
Why does it always seem like I'm the only one dealing with her medical emergencies?
And now I know why, despite everything the local government is trying, it will never get my mercury thermometer until they pry it from my cold, dead hand. Unlike some alternatives, the damn thing doesn't need new batteries at ten freakin' PM at night!

Date: 2003-03-22 09:23 am (UTC)Not so long ago, in an insignificanct place on the other side of the Atlantic, an entire nation was vaccinated against Meningitis, due to a sudden outbreak.
Basically, what we are all were warned to look out for were the symptoms of a combined fever and pain in the neck.
You might want to read this: http://www.medinfo.co.uk/conditions/meningitis.html
If she has any of ther other symptoms as well, it would be best to check it out.
Maybe I'm just paranoid (I'm rather sure of it, actually), but the alarm-bell wouldn't stop ringing until I at least made the suggestion. Probably nothing, but... saa.
