Weird Signs Inside The Lingere Mine...

So, the other day I'm in a fairly large "adult" toy store, one of those upscale places than sells JimmyJane and LeLo and all sorts of uber-expensive vibrators and lingere and sex toys. And I notice there are all these signs on the wall, indicating the kinds of people they love to sell to:

• ♂ Male. Okay, that makes sense to me.
• ♀ Female.
• ♂♀ Heterosexual.
• ♂♂ Gay
• ♀♀ Lesbian. Okay, whatever. "Heterosexual" isn't a good co-categorical with "gay" and "lesbian," but I can roll with this.

And then there was this:

• ♀♀♀ Feminist.

To which I say, what the?

Everything is now clearer... ...kind of... ...in a sort of skewed way.

If feminist is a sexual preference, all those young women who want to be identified as straight would have to distance themselves from feminism. Even if they enjoy all of its benefits and basically believe all of its goals - because identifying as a feminist deletes their real preference, negates a sexual identity that is very dear to them.

I think that the ♀♀♀ sign indicates two explaining to a third why she doesn't need the ♂ symbol to help her do anything.

that's just...weird. like, what are they even trying to say with that? I can't assign any sort of theoretical value judgement or lack there of to such a symbol any because I'm unsure if it has *any* sort of cultural connotation to it what so ever.

My guess is things like dildoes that don't look a *thing* like penises.

I've seen that kind of thing at Babeland's website among other places, where they have categories dedicated to non-realistic dildoes. Usually they don't really sell them in a "feminazi" category though.
