I've been trying to be less shrill, but this makes me want to howl at the cold, uncaring stars. Dinesh D'Souza, in the pages of Forbes no less, seems to have lost his fucking mind:
Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation's agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son.
I understand that the objective of the far right, and D'Souza has been a part of this project, is to explore the entire possible memespace of how to hate on the democratically elected Democratic President, on the grounds that a Democratic president can never be legitimate, but this is such a bizarre stab in the dark that I'd like to know how much Rohypnol D'Souza needs just to get it on with his own right hand.

And here, I thought that Editors are supposed to filter out delusional ramblings. You know, at the very lowest levels of editorship.

D'Souza lost it a few years back, in the twilight of the Bush administration: his last book's thesis was, essentially, that Al Qaeda was right.

You're referring to The Enemy at Home, right? He's written several since then.

That was the one. He's written more? Damn, must be using the same perl script as Piers Anthony.

Oh well, he'll get plenty of air time if the Republicans retake the House and start their planned investigations of Obama. They figure there's got to be something there, and it would certainly be prudent in this time of shrinking budgets to give partisan special prosecutors unlimited funding to go fishing.
