elfsI've posted a new article for my technical blog, Django and Asynchronous Gearman, which allows you to start long-running processes in Gearman from Django, and (and this is the nifty part) receive messages from Gearman in Django informing you of when the process is finished. Very useful for processing video, audio, and large document conversion.
It's a toy example, and it would need a lot of memcached work to be production-viable, but since I've never seen a complete example of this in the wild, dammit, I felt a contribution was in order.
