A terrorist attack on US soil.

Were you aware that there was a terrorist attack within the borders of the United States last Wednesday? And unlike the Times Square Bomber, this attacker not only successfully assembled a large explosive device, he managed to set it off?

No?

Neither was I.

But since the target of the attack was a mosque, I guess it wasn't really terrorism.

Sadly, I suspect it might have gotten more media coverage had it not been in Florida, the state that has pretty well established itself as Dumbfuckistan. I mean, Fark gave them their *own tag*.

Bombings are not really that uncommon.

A bombing without injuries is not normally newsworthy.

This would be newsworthy only due to the nature of the target and the potential for loss of life.

yeah... if it'd been somebody who looked like Islamic Rage Boy (http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/Islamic%20Rage%20Boy.jpg) who set off a pipe bomb outside a christian church after yelling threatening things at the people inside earlier... It'd have been headline news instantly and we'd have nonstop media updates of the national manhunt.

Agreed. The big difference in news coverage is between it happening in Jacksonville (where it was a big deal) compared to NYC, the media capital of the world. Spinning this as proof of some larger pattern of discrimination against Islam is a reach.
